How we review lenders

Where facts come from

Lender facts such as APR ranges, terms, minimum loan amounts and eligibility come only from each lender's official website. Each one shows the date we checked it and links to the page we used. If we have not verified a number, we do not show one.

Federal loan information comes only from studentaid.gov and consumer guidance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Order of lenders

Lenders are listed alphabetically.

Calculators

Our calculators use the standard fixed-rate amortization formula and assume on-time payments with no fees. They are estimates and not loan offers. The math is covered by automated tests in our code.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page and we will fix it and update the review date.
